  • The man deserves a little humiliation! Maybe he will remember next time. And it's not like anything really terrible was done to him. When I go to any type of public event where my cell phone ringing would be an interruption or embarrassment I turn it OFF.

  • It says "size of a minivan", which pretty clearly refers to dimensions, not weight. After all, a bowling ball is NOT the same size as a beach ball!

  • There are numerous safety systems and they don't go off randomly. In the 80s an ICBM variant (W53) of this warhead was ejected several hundred feet out of its Titan II silo in Arkansas after an explosion. Obviously it did not detonate.

  • The press was probably invited into the complex for the sake of taking photos. Not much of a conspiracy. Actually, if there were guys in white jackets I would be more suspicious. Those types design, test and build weapons, they don't deal with daily operations like moving them around.

  • Look up Yamantau. It is huge and protected by over a mile of solid granite. The estimate is numerous direct ground-penetration hits one on top of the other. It could take a sizable chunk of the current nuclear arsenal to destroy it.

  • Maybe Mr Toad can explain how killing 100,000 with one bomb in the blink of an eye is any more immoral than killing 100,000 with 20,000 conventional bombs over the course of hours. War is a horrible thing, regardless of how it's carried out.
